Two more people have died from dengue infection in the last 24 hours, while 194 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.
The information was disclosed in a dengue-related press release issued on Sunday, December 21, by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
According to the release, among the patients hospitalized in the past 24 hours, 32 were reported from Barishal division outside city corporation areas, 45 from Chattogram division outside city corporation areas, 26 from Dhaka division outside city corporation areas, 28 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 22 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 23 from Khulna division outside city corporation areas, five from Mymensingh division outside city corporation areas, 12 from Rajshahi division outside city corporation areas, and one from Rangpur division outside city corporation areas.
During the same 24-hour period, 538 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 100,434 dengue patients have recovered and been released from hospitals.
As of December 21 this year, a total of 101,791 people have been infected with dengue nationwide. Of them, 62.5 percent are male and 37.5 percent are female.
