Two people have died from dengue across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours as the country continues to grapple with the mosquito-borne disease. During the same period, 610 new patients were admitted to hospitals with dengue, according to a report issued on Monday by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
Of the newly admitted patients, 52 were reported in Barishal Division, 122 in Chattogram Division, 81 in areas under Dhaka Division outside city corporation limits, 171 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 102 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 31 in Khulna Division, 26 in Mymensingh Division, 17 in Rajshahi Division, two in Rangpur Division and six in Sylhet Division.
In the past 24 hours, 593 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide. With this, the total number of recoveries this year has reached 92,618.
Since January, dengue has claimed 384 lives in Bangladesh. The cumulative number of hospital admissions from dengue this year now stands at 95,012.
