Five people have died of dengue fever in the past 24 hours across the country, while 636 new patients have been admitted to hospitals during the same period.
With the latest deaths and cases, the dengue death toll for this year has risen to 382, and the total number of confirmed infections has climbed to 94,402.
The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the updated figures in its regular dengue bulletin issued on Sunday, November 30.
According to the DGHS, among the 636 newly hospitalised dengue patients in the last 24 hours, 75 were admitted in Barishal Division, 95 in Chattogram Division, 116 in Dhaka Division, 147 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 74 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 56 in Khulna Division, 45 in Mymensingh Division, 17 in Rajshahi Division, two in Rangpur Division, and nine in Sylhet Division.
Of the five deaths reported in the past 24 hours, three occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation, one in Chattogram Division, and one in Khulna Division.
During the same period, 803 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. With this, a total of 92,025 dengue patients have recovered so far this year.
In 2024, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths. The previous year, 2023, saw the highest fatalities on record, with 1,705 deaths and 321,179 hospital admissions due to dengue.
