Daytime temperatures across Bangladesh may drop by around three degrees Celsius on Sunday, December 21, according to a forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana shared the outlook on Saturday, December 20, stating that prevailing weather systems are likely to cause a noticeable decline in daytime temperatures.
According to the forecast, an extended part of the subcontinental high-pressure belt is currently positioned over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Meanwhile, the seasonal low-pressure system remains over the southern Bay of Bengal, with an extended portion stretching up to the northeastern Bay.
Under these conditions, daytime temperatures on Sunday may fall by approximately three degrees Celsius. Over the next 24 hours, weather conditions across the country are expected to remain dry, with temporarily partly cloudy skies.
In addition, moderate to dense fog may form in some areas across the country from midnight to morning. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department said similar weather conditions, including fog formation, may continue over the following 24-hour period.
