Two more people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, while 1,179 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were disclosed in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS on Monday, November 10. It stated that between 8 a.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, a total of 1,179 dengue patients were hospitalised nationwide.
Of the new cases, 169 were reported in Barishal Division, 151 in Chattogram Division, 239 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporations), 172 in Dhaka North City, 157 in Dhaka South City, 70 in Khulna Division (outside city corporations), 89 in Mymensingh Division (outside city corporations), 109 in Rajshahi Division (outside city corporations), 12 in Rangpur Division (outside city corporations), 8 in Sylhet Division (outside city corporations), and 3 in other areas.
During the same period, 1,116 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 76,009.
Since January, a total of 79,722 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh, with 315 deaths reported so far this year.
