Four people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours across Bangladesh, while 1,101 new patients have been hospitalized with the mosquito-borne disease. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the figures in its daily report released on Tuesday, November 4.
According to the DGHS, between 8 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday, 1,101 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of them, 151 were admitted in Barishal division, 125 in Chattogram division, 208 in areas outside Dhaka city corporations, 241 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 175 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 59 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 75 in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 45 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), 19 in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation), and three in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
During the same 24-hour period, 1,077 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals across the country. With this, the total number of patients who have recovered from dengue this year has reached 70,529.
Since January, a total of 73,923 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh, according to DGHS data. So far this year, the disease has claimed 292 lives nationwide.
