The first-year undergraduate admission tests for the 2025–26 academic session at Jahangirnagar University will begin on Sunday, December 21, with examinations starting through the ‘C’ Unit.
According to university authorities, admission tests will be conducted across six units from December 21 to December 31. A total of 219,399 students have applied against 1,842 available seats, resulting in a competition ratio of approximately 119 candidates per seat.
University administration data show that, as in previous years, the highest number of applicants has applied for the ‘D’ Unit under the Faculty of Biological Sciences.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the admission tests, the university authorities have imposed several restrictions for examinees and their guardians. The use of university buses by candidates and guardians has been prohibited during the admission test period. In addition, the university has issued nine mandatory instructions as part of its admission test regulations.
Candidates must fill in all circles on the OMR answer sheet using a standard black ballpoint pen, as any error may result in cancellation of the answer script. Admission test roll numbers, shifts, and question set codes must be written in English and filled in accurately in the designated fields. After the examination, candidates must submit both the OMR sheet and the question paper to the invigilator.
Seat-related information will be available through the downloaded admit card. Candidates are required to enter the examination center at least ten minutes before the scheduled start time.
Carrying bags, books, mobile phones, watches, calculators, or any electronic devices into the examination center is strictly prohibited. No individuals other than candidates and authorized examination personnel will be allowed to enter the examination centers.
The university authorities stated that admission test results will be published on the university website within a maximum of seven days after the completion of each examination.
Candidates must carry their original Secondary School Certificate registration card along with the admission test admit card during the examination. As the Jahangirnagar University campus is located approximately 30 kilometers from Dhaka, candidates coming from distant areas have been advised to leave early and allow sufficient travel time to avoid traffic congestion.
