
Assistant Meteorologist Kazi Zebunnesa has warned that by Monday evening, winds blowing from the south or southeast at 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may occur temporarily, accompanied by rainfall or thunderstorms over Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display a number one warning signal.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department also forecasted that by 6 pm Monday, rainfall or thunderstorms may occur in many areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. During this period, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in scattered areas nationwide. Additionally, daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to decrease slightly.
In the past 24 hours, ending at 6 pm Sunday, the highest rainfall was recorded in Raja’shat, Nilphamari at 123 millimeters. Other notable rainfall includes 120 mm in Tetulia, Panchagarh; 82 mm in Dimla, Nilphamari; 67 mm in Badalgachhi, Naogaon; 65 mm in Netrokona; 61 mm in Kumar Khali, Kushtia; 53 mm in Rangpur; and 52 mm in Bogura. Most regions across the country experienced rain during this period.
The Meteorological Department further noted that rainfall is likely to decrease over the next five days.
