
DHAKA: The fire that erupted at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) has been brought completely under control, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism announced in a press release on Saturday night.
The blaze started at the Cargo Village at 2:15 PM today. "Due to the swift and coordinated efforts of the Fire Service and the Airport Authority, the fire has been completely contained," the statement confirmed.
The Ministry verified that no casualties were reported in the incident.
All flight operations at HSIA were scheduled to resume from 9:00 PM tonight. The Advisor to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism remained at the airport to closely monitor the entire situation.
An investigation has already been initiated to determine the cause of the incident. The Ministry assured that all necessary steps will be taken to identify the source of the blaze and prevent any future recurrence.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to passengers and the general public for their cooperation and patience during the temporary disruption.
