Dhaka: Industry leaders, nutritionists, and poultry health experts gathered at the Intestinal Inflammation Summit–Dhaka on Thursday, October 16, 2025, to highlight the critical need for advanced gut health solutions in Bangladesh's poultry sector.
Jointly organized by global animal health leader Innovad and local partner Planet Pharma Ltd., the event at Hotel Le Méridien focused on tackling sub-clinical inflammation—a "silent profit killer." The goal is to enhance performance, reduce disease, and ensure safe, antibiotic-free protein for consumers.
Planet Pharma Director, Shah Fahad Habib, affirmed the company’s commitment to providing "innovative, residue-safe, and science-based solutions" to the industry.
International experts shared key insights. Gregory Hargreave stressed that neglecting gut integrity compromises performance and profitability. Michele Muccio warned that mycotoxins silently damage the gut, increasing vulnerability to disease and antibiotic resistance. Dr. Fernando Lima emphasized using specific feed additives to prevent major issues before clinical disease appears.
The summit concluded with a dynamic Q&A session and a motivating message from Planet Pharma Managing Director, Md. Shah Habibul Haque. He pledged continued collaboration with global partners to bring world-class solutions, reinforcing the role of smart gut health management in building a sustainable future for Bangladesh’s poultry industry.
