Interim Government’s Education Adviser Professor Dr. C. R. Abrar has urged the younger generation to see themselves not merely as job seekers but as innovators, entrepreneurs, and ethical leaders capable of shaping the nation’s progress.
He made the call on Sunday (October 26) while addressing the 37th convocation ceremony of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur.
Dr. Abrar described education as “an investment in peace, prosperity, and human capital,” rather than an expense. He said the Bangladesh government is prioritizing equity, quality enhancement, and digital transformation in its ongoing education reform initiatives. The goal, he noted, is to build an education system that nurtures globally competent, creative, and innovative citizens.
He also paid tribute to the students and alumni who lost their lives during the July 2024 mass uprising, honoring their sacrifice with deep respect.
Addressing the graduating students, Dr. Abrar said, “Education is a trust placed upon you. Use it for the welfare of humanity, guided by morality and innovation. Let faith be your compass, knowledge your light, and compassion your strength.”
Dr. Abrar highlighted that the Islamic University of Technology is the only international university in Bangladesh established under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), calling it a matter of national pride. He assured that the government will continue to support the university’s growth and success in every possible way.
The convocation ceremony was attended by representatives from the OIC, diplomats, faculty members, parents, and students from various member countries of the organization.
