DHAKA: The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that no new deaths from Aedes-borne dengue disease were recorded in the country over the last 24 hours, keeping the total number of fatalities this year at 243.
However, 510 new dengue patients were admitted to various hospitals across the country during the 24-hour period ending at 8:00 AM on Friday (October 17).
With the new admissions, the total number of dengue cases recorded this year has climbed to 58,280. Of the total infected, 55,360 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
According to the DGHS, the year's death toll of 243 includes:
