
Four people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, while 781 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country. With these new cases, the total number of hospital admissions due to the mosquito-borne disease this year has risen to 52,885.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shared the information in a bulletin issued on Thursday (October 9). The data covers the 24-hour period from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday.
According to the DGHS, the four deceased were all men aged 39, 13, 14, and 55. One of them was undergoing treatment at Kurmitola General Hospital, another at Mugda Medical College Hospital, and the remaining two at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
In the last 24 hours, 781 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, including in Dhaka. Of them, 130 were admitted in Barishal division (outside the city corporation areas), 82 in Chattogram, 101 in Dhaka division (outside city corporations), 162 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 116 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 48 in Khulna, 40 in Mymensingh, 63 in Rajshahi, 32 in Rangpur, and 7 in Sylhet division.
The health authorities continue to urge the public to remain cautious and take preventive measures as dengue cases persist across the country.
