
Dhaka and its surrounding areas have recorded 50 millimeters of rainfall over the past 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). The Met Office has forecast further rain or thundershowers in the capital by Friday noon.
The forecast, issued at 7 a.m. on Friday for the next six hours, stated that the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy, with possibilities of rain or thundershowers.
Winds from the southeast or south are expected to blow at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. The forecast also indicated a slight rise in daytime temperatures.
At 6 a.m. on Friday, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity measured at 97 percent.
