The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has warned of the possibility of strong winds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour in seven districts of the country by noon. Authorities have advised river ports in these areas to display cautionary signals.
The warning, issued for inland river ports from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, indicates that regions including Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar may experience temporary squalls or gusty winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms. These winds are expected to blow from the south to southeast at speeds ranging from 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.
Officials have instructed all river ports in the affected areas to hoist the number one cautionary signal to alert boats and local communities about the potentially hazardous conditions. Residents and travelers have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions until the weather stabilizes.
The meteorological department continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as conditions develop.
