The admission test for the 2025–26 academic year of the Business Education Unit (Faculty of Business Studies) at the University of Dhaka was held today, Saturday, December 6. A total of 34,062 applicants participated in the examination against 1,050 available seats.
During the examination, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan visited the test center located at the Faculty of Business Studies. He was accompanied by Pro–Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro–Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty Professor Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam, and Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed.
Along with the DU campus, the admission test was conducted simultaneously in four divisional cities: Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.
Following the inspection, the Vice-Chancellor said the admission test took place in a very orderly, peaceful, and disciplined manner. He noted that nearly 33 candidates were competing for each seat this year, reflecting the highly competitive nature of the process.
He emphasized the importance of parental support, stating that students should not be discouraged if they fail to secure admission. “Gaining admission is not the final determinant of success in life. Every student grows with their own unique abilities, and they deserve opportunities to express and develop those abilities,” he said.
Of the total 1,050 seats available this year, 930 were allocated for candidates from the business studies background, 95 for science students, and 25 for humanities students.
Among the applicants, 5,148 came from the science stream, 5,892 from humanities, and 23,022 from the business studies stream.
