BNP Will Go to Int’l Court for Fair Share of Water

BNP’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, has said that the party is prepared to take the issue of Bangladesh’s fair share of water to an international court if necessary.

He made the remark while addressing the biannual council of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP virtually on Sunday, August 10.

Tarique Rahman emphasized that the main goal of the movement against autocracy was to establish the rights of the people, and the key to achieving that lies in ensuring their right to vote.

“The people of this country want to place their trust in the BNP,” he said, calling for unity among party leaders and activists to face all challenges ahead. He urged everyone to take an oath to regain the people’s trust.

The council, held after 15 years, saw thousands of BNP leaders and activists gather from different parts of Rajshahi city and surrounding districts since early morning.

Joining the event virtually after 5 PM, Tarique Rahman reiterated that the fall of autocracy had only one goal — to restore people's rights.

He stressed the need to face the numerous challenges that lie ahead in rebuilding the country and urged everyone to remain united in this effort.

Tarique Rahman concluded his speech by calling on party members to collectively pledge to win back the confidence of the nation.
