
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning that strong winds may sweep across seven districts of the country by midday, reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. Authorities have advised river ports in the affected areas to display cautionary signals.
The forecast, valid from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, specifically covers the internal river ports of the country.
According to the advisory, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar may experience temporary gusty or stormy winds from the south to southeast, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour. River ports in these regions have been instructed to raise the number one warning signal to alert local communities and waterway users.
Authorities are urging fishermen, boat operators, and residents in riverside areas to exercise extreme caution during the forecast period.
