ADM (NYSE: ADM), a global leader in solutions from nature, and Alltech, a global leader in agriculture, have signed a definitive agreement to launch a North American animal feed joint venture. The new partnership brings together decades of expertise and complementary strengths to create greater value for customers across the industry.
Under the agreement, Alltech will contribute its U.S.-based Hubbard Feeds and Canada-based Masterfeeds businesses, which include 17 feed mills in the United States and 15 in Canada. ADM will contribute its 11 U.S. feed mills. The joint venture will be majority-owned by Alltech and managed by a board with equal representation from both parent companies.
“As the animal nutrition industry continues to reshape itself to support a growing global population, Alltech and ADM are bringing together passionate teams, proven products and shared values to ensure enhanced advantages for our customers,” the companies said in a joint statement. “We are evolving with purpose to deliver an industry-leading range of products and solutions for livestock, equine, backyard and leisure animals.”
The collaboration builds on a longstanding relationship between the two companies, dating back to ADM’s role as Alltech’s first customer. The joint venture aims to leverage complementary North American feed assets, technical expertise, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and well-established product portfolios. It will be further strengthened by the parent companies’ research and development platforms, technology, logistics, and industry networks.
“Our customers know they can depend on us to partner with them, offering personalized service and nutrition expertise to tailor products and solutions that give them an edge, whether in the market or the show ring,” the joint statement continued. “With this new venture, we will now deliver broader capabilities, more product diversity, and innovative solutions, while maintaining the trusted relationships and service our customers expect.”
Alltech will retain its Ridley Block Operations, Ridley Feed Ingredients, and Alltech specialty ingredients businesses, though these units will act as partners and suppliers to the new company. ADM’s Canadian locations, as well as its U.S. premix and additive businesses, will remain with ADM, but will also serve as suppliers to the joint venture.
The companies expect to finalize the transaction and formally launch the new business in the first quarter of 2026.
