The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) has announced that online registration for students enrolling in Class 8 under the pre-vocational curriculum for the 2025 academic year will begin on October 7 and continue until October 16.
According to a circular issued by the board, all data entry and payment procedures must be completed within this period. From October 20 to October 26, institutions will be required to print registration cards and final hard-copy lists.
Students who have passed primary, ibtedayi, or equivalent examinations, as well as those who have completed Class 7 in general, madrasa, or technical streams, will be eligible to register for Class 8 under this curriculum. However, students must be at least 12 years of age as of December 31, 2024.
The total registration fee has been fixed at Tk 196 per student. This includes Tk 130 for registration, Tk 20 for sports and cultural activities, Tk 24 for Red Crescent, Tk 15 for Scouts or Girls Guides, and Tk 7 for science and technology. Payments must be made collectively through the Sonali Bank payment gateway.
Each institution is required to form a three-member registration committee comprising teachers. Before final submission of the online data, the committee must verify student information against admission forms and certificates to ensure accuracy. Institutions have also been instructed not to involve students directly in the registration process.
Additionally, institutions must ensure that their 2024–25 fiscal year affiliation fees are paid in full. The circular warned that failure to complete registration within the stipulated timeframe would be the sole responsibility of the institution head.
