The Ministry of Commerce has appointed an administrator to oversee the Bangladesh Fertilizer Association. The decision was outlined in an official order signed by Muhammad Rehan Uddin, Acting Director General of the Trade Organizations wing under the ministry, on July 24.
According to the order, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Mostafizur Rahman, has been designated as the administrator of the association. He has been directed to conduct a fair and impartial election within 120 days and to transfer responsibilities to the newly elected committee, subsequently notifying the ministry upon completion.
The appointment has been made under Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022, following the government's decision to annul the reconstituted board of the Bangladesh Fertilizer Association. The order clearly states that the assignment is backed by formal government approval.
