Bangladesh has reported three new dengue-related deaths in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 220 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The information was revealed in a press release issued on Wednesday (October 8) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS.
During the same period, 700 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Since the beginning of this year, a total of 52,104 patients have been hospitalized with dengue infections, the DGHS report added.
Health authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and take preventive measures as dengue cases persist across multiple districts amid favorable weather conditions for mosquito breeding.
